This is the situation that ComCam confronted when it was asked to provide the security monitoring solution for a landmark Philadelphia public venue.
This popular historic site had an existing CCTV security system in place that included six analog cameras as well as the associated wiring (including telephone wires) required for an older system – none of which could be altered or replaced. ComCam -- working with Pinnacle Systems (a StanleyWorks Company) – deployed its award-winning BNC MicroServer and C3 software to provide an integrated solution.
The ComCam BNC MicroServer has a four-input, four-channel switcher with video loss detection, PAL/NTSC auto sensing and four channel active loop-through video outputs to convert the landmark’s existing analog network to a full digital IP network.
The live, real-time feeds from the analog cameras to HQ were integrated and displayed on a command and control panel utilizing ComCam’s C3 (Camera Control Center®) software. With ComCam’s C3 program, each camera can be individually viewed, controlled and its video stored or downloaded locally via Ethernet, WiFi or standard telecommunications modems.
With ComCam’s system solution, this historic landmark with its existing analog cameras was maintained while being upgraded, made ready for the security challenges of the 21st century.
